Their Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamji and Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamiji visited Kalavai Sankara Mutt this morning. The Atirudram and Sahasrachandi Mahayagnam being performed in the Mutt as part of the 117th Jayanthi celebrat ions of His Holiness Pujyasri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Mahaswamiji concluded with the performance of Poornahuti in the presence of Their Holiness. Abhishekam was performed to the Adhistanams of the 66th and 67th Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti peetam at Kalavai with the Kalasha tirtham from the Yagna. Their Holiness blessed the Vaidiks performing the Yagna and sambhavana was distributed. A large number of devotees participated in the programme and received the blessings of the Almighty and Acharya Swamijis.

As part of the celebration, Nitya Annadaanam was performed for the general public and close to 4000 persons were given free lunch everyday.

His Holiness Visits Bharadwajeswarar Temple
After the poornahuti, His Holiness Pujyasri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Sankaracharya Swamiji visited the Home for the Aged run by Srimatam at Kalavai.

While returning from Kalavai to Kanchipuram, His Holiness visited the Sri Dharmasamvardhini Sametha Sri Bharadwajeswarar Temple near Arcot and offered prayers to the Lord. This is an ancient temple and one of the six temples which are referred to as Aar-Kaadu in Tamil(meaning 6- forests), now popularly pronounced as Arcot. This is the Kshetra where Bharadwaj Maharishi camped and performed pujas to the Siva Linga.
